Hello, stranger!
My name is William Porter. That's me on the left, shooting in a bride in her natural habitat, the hair salon.
I am an event photographer in Dallas, Texas, with more than thirty years experience hiding behind the camera, locked in the darkroom, and more recently, tied to a computer processing digital images.
My photographic work these days includes graduations and school sports; quinceañeras; Baptisms, First Communions and Confirmations - and last but most special of all, weddings.

I am an event photographer in Dallas, Texas, with more than thirty years experience hiding behind the camera, locked in the darkroom, and more recently, tied to a computer processing digital images.

My approach to photography is journalistic in style and traditional in philosophy. It's exciting when a photo transcends its subject and stands on its own artistically, and I try hard to make every shot a beauty! But my first aim always is to show how interesting my subjects are naturally. I am not a wannabe fashion photographer or movie director. I will never ask the bride if she wants to burn her dress for the sake of a good photo. Of course, if you want to burn your dress for your own reasons, I won't mind if you call me so I can come by and take photos. It's just not my bread and butter. I take a lot of shots of very similar subjects. When I do my job well, it's not my imagination that makes the photos special. It's the individuality of each subject. It's you.

Pricing for weddings ranges from $900 to $2500, although discounts may be available and in some cases there may be other costs. Every event is specially priced to meet your needs and your budget. I live in east Dallas near White Rock Lake with my wife of thirty-two years (an attorney), two daughters, two dogs, a guinea pig and a black cat. In addition to my photographic practice, I own a small software company. My expertise on the computer is a very important complement to my photographic work, because digital photography involves hours in front of the computer.
I write frequently about photography at my blog and elsewhere. I have been writing for years about computer software for publications small and large, including Macworld.
When I was younger and smarter, I spent fifteen years as a university professor of classical languages (mostly Latin). Si vis, licet mihi litteras Latine scriptas mittere!
